5 Things Successful People Don’t Say

Our thoughts and the things we say have a direct correlation with our success. Negative thoughts and self-talk have no place in a successful person’s mind. In order to be successful, you must have an unrelenting can-do attitude. Your attitude and thoughts are reflected in your actions and the things you say. These are 5 things that successful people do not say.

1. “I can’t.”

Successful people never say “I can’t.” If anyone else has ever done it before, then you can do it too. You may need to learn new skills, push yourself, and work hard, but to say you cannot do something is only a lie you tell yourself. In place of saying you can’t, say ‘I’ve never done this before, but I would love to learn.’ Learning new skills keeps life interesting and helps you to grow. Only when someone is afraid or too lazy to learn, their success becomes out of reach.

2. “I don’t need help.”

People who are successful know that everyone needs help from time to time. Don’t be too proud to ask for help. Successful people know that they cannot be an expert at everything. Instead, be a visionary and know where to go when you do need help. Be willing to delegate, ask questions, and learn from others.

3. “That’s not fair!”

Successful people do not say this because it’s an obvious statement. Life isn’t always fair, but complaining about it does nothing to help the situation. If you trust in yourself, your ability to learn, and your relentless drive to win, you will achieve success despite life not always being fair or easy.

4. “I’ll do it later.”

Procrastination shows a lack of drive. Don’t be too lazy or too comfortable to complete tasks early. Show initiative to jump right on a task instead of waiting to do it later. Successful people show energy and enthusiasm to get things done.

5.  “I give up.”

Quitting is never an option for successful people. If something doesn’t go as planned, successful people know that they have to keep trying to find a solution that will work. Failure is just part of a process. Successful people rarely get things right the first time they try. Persistence and determination are imperative to success.

Watch out for these potential pitfalls. If you catch yourself saying one of these 5 things, try to replace it with something more positive and purposeful.
